About
Rylie Allen is a freelance photographer who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work is constantly changing; however, she strives to bring awareness to several different issues (social, economic, and political issues).
As a child growing up with working parents, Rylie would spend time with her grandparents learning how to draw, sew, and any type of craft that she wanted to make. In high school, she would go on to take photography classes that would inspire her to learn more. Her senior year, she competed in the All- State Art Symposium at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia (2019).
Rylie graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BFA with a concentration of photography (2023). Her work has shown many different issues (such as mental health, the corporate world, fast fashion, etc.) as she inspires to raise awareness for them. Her work, Movie Theater, was in New Visions at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia (2023). Her work about fast fashion, Di Moda, was in Art at the Avenue 2023 at South Cobb Arts Alliance in Kennesaw, Georgia (2023).
Rylie states, “As I continue to create and share more art, I will continue to strive to show different issues that should talked about. My long term projects, as of right now, are about the corporate world and fast fashion. The corporate world seems to be taking over a ton of smaller businesses. I grew up going to smaller breakfast restaurants that have closed down or are very close to closing down because the bigger businesses are taking over. I try to raise awareness to question why this is happening and how our society is effected by this. Fast fashion is something that is still fairly new in our very technology driven society. The way fast fashion world is taking over, everyone seems to be wanting something new every few minutes. If they can get it, they will. However, people forget the bigger issues that come with this much consumption and dumping. With my work, I strive to show the reality of how cheap and fast everything is made and how it is damaging our world.”
