Nostalgic

(Spring 2022)

Everyone has something from their childhood that is nostalgic for them. This could be a certain smell, certain time of day, or even a certain place. For me, my grandparents houses are nostalgic because I spent a lot of time going to their houses while my parents worked. Each photo are different spots in their houses that seem to give me the most nostalgia. I wanted to focus mainly on the light shining into their houses because when I was younger, I seemed to always be fascinated by how the sun would come through the windows and make different shapes based on the certain types and shapes of the windows. The light is also supposed to represent that my childhood is something that isn’t something that I look down upon because I has made me who I am today. My childhood and the places that remind me of it are happy memories so there are no underlying shadows that cast out the light.
