Hurt Building

The Hurt Building is located on 50 Hurt Plaza SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. This 18-story building was built by Joel Hurt in hope that it would unite the city of Atlanta. The building’s construction began in 1913; however, after the start of World War I, the construction was delayed in 1914. The Hurt Building finally opened its doors in 1926. By 1940, the Hurt Park was opened right across Peachtree St in hopes to add joy to the visitors’ eyes. The Hurt Building joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. In 2009, the building became LEED certified to maintain competitive advantage. By 2016, Gamma Real Estate had purchased the Hurt Building. By the spring of 2018, the building went through a $4 million renovations in the lobby, common corridors, fitness, and conference room facilities.
